In such case, you need to create a password. Once the password is created, the user is prompted to type the password when logging on to a computer. The error code it gives is We checked everything we could think of. We had the correct credentials, we checked the folder permissions, everything on the server end.

FYI, this is the same list that populates from any of the scanner touch-screens when trying to scan to a shared network folder. Do you have two NIC's? Can you check if one of the got turned on and the server is now multi-homed? Additionally, the disabled card is not connected to the switch via a patch cable no cable connected at all.
Could the second 'disabled' card still be causing a problem without a connection to the switch? Is there any additional way to disable the card, short of pulling it out? It is only there as a backup should the integrated NIC fail.
